After she won the World Championship crown and European Cup Finals Belarus' Yelena Bounos clinched "Miss Billiard 2008" title at the first ever televised Ladies tournament in Pyramids history.
She is the unchallenged No1 in Pyramids circuit of our days: Following up on her World Championship crown Belarus' Yelena Bounos on December 14-16 won the European Cup finals convincingly:
The first 16 of European Cup ranking were qualified for the Finals in Dnepripetrovsk. Yelena marched through the field like a knife through butter: First round 4-0 vs A.Poboda (Ukr), quarters 4-0 vs S.Stavitzkaya (Ukr) and semis 4-2 vs E.Belitzhenko (Rus). In the final she beat Russia's Olga Milovanova 5-3 (8-5, 8-6, 3-8, 6-8, 8-5, 8-3, 2-8, 8-5) and earned 1.500 $.
The men's title went to Yaroslav Tarnowetzky, who beat Artem Moyseyenko (both Ukraine) 7-6 in the final. The winner earned 5.000 $, runner up 3.000 $.
But that was not all at the "Time Out" Club in Ukraine's Dnepripetrovsk:
The Ukrainian and Russian Federations invited 8 of the world's top Pyramids Ladies to "Miss Billiard 2008" tournament on December 17-18, which simultaneously was a world premiere: The Russian TV Channel 'Sports' recorded the tournament completely and will broadcast all matches at the beginning of January.
And Yelena demonstrated her present special position again. In quarters she defeated Voronezh's Tatyana Maximova (19, Russian Champion 2007) 4-2 after 3-0 lead. In semis Svetlana Stavitzkaya (Ukraine) at first won 2 frames, but then she had to throw in the towel. The Belarusian overcame her 4-2.
In the final Yelena met 2007 European Champion Anastacia Lyuppova (24, Russia). The lady from Samara won the first frame (8-6), but afterwards Yelena didn't put her opponent in a position to win the match 4-1 and capture the title "Miss Billiard 2008".
