PAN-AMERICA: ECUADOR ON TOP

On june 16-18 in Nicaragua were held the 14th Panamerican 3-Cushion Team Championships.
At 'Pool 8' club and Best Western Las Mercedes hotel in Managua 18 teams (per 2 players) fought for America's carom team top crown.
Ecuador was regarded as the favourite: Luis Aveiga, 3 times Panamerican 3-cushion champion and current Panamerica's number one - and partner Javier Teran.
And after loosing the final in 2005 this year they made it.
They eleminated Bolivia in the quarters, defeated Costa Rica 1 in the semis and overcame Colombia (Luis Martinez, Edgard Galeano) in the final. 3rd place went to Mexico 1 (Luis Miguel Avila, Guillermo Soza).
Aveiga/Teran played a 1,1236 general average.
After 1997 (partnered with J.Rubio) this is the second continental 3-cushion team title for Aveiga and Ecuador.
